Upcoming Events

  • Sep 14, 2012: Together for Adoption National Conference at Cross Pointe Church
The primary objective of our September 14-15 national conference is to take Christians deeper into God’s story of Adoption to give hope and practical tools to walk with deep joy through “the sufferings of this present time” (Romans 8:18-23) for God’s glory and the good of orphans around the world. God’s work of adoption within the world is a story that encompasses all of human history, from its pre-temporal beginnings when God predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to the renewal of the heavens and the earth. From the Apostle Paul’s perspective, Adoption is the story that makes sense of the universe, that makes sense of our broken lives and gives the existence of all creation ultimate meaning.

  • Jun 4, 2012: Texas Judicial Summit at Will Rogers Memorial Center
The TCU Institute of Child Development is honored to present the third Texas Judicial Summit on June 4-6, 2012 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. With over 65,000 victims of child abuse and neglect in Texas last year, our courts have a profound impact on the lives of thousands of at-risk children and families. This statewide conference is designed to improve the handling of cases of child abuse and neglect with insights from the fields of child development and child welfare.
Nationally recognized speakers will present current research findings, and provide strategies for making trauma-informed placement decisions and recommendations. Learning about these issues will empower judges, attorneys, and child welfare professionals to handle cases in a manner that prevents further trauma to the child victim, and improves outcomes for children and youth in care.

About DFW Alliance

The DFW Alliance was organized in early 2006 to bring together local church adoption and orphan care ministries from various Christian churches in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It was founded by Tapestry, a ministry for adoptive and foster families at Irving Bible Church in Irving, Texas, and “His Child” Orphan Care Ministry at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The DFW Alliance seeks to provide area ministries and church leaders with opportunities to share ideas and coordinate and collaborate on events and activities to serve adoptive and foster families as well as orphans, at-risk children and children in the local foster care system. The DFW Alliance also focuses on efforts to create and support effective local church adoption, foster care and orphan care ministries across the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
